Couples Counselling
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” – Romans 12:10
Together we will gain and implement tools to help both people honor one another above themselves. For couples counselling specifically, I have a program that follows closely the Gottman Method.
This is what an average couple experiences when working with me:
Session 1 – Learning about marriage. (Assessments provided)
Session 2 – Individual Sessions
Session 3 – Review of Assessment using the Sound Relationship House. (First tool for practice provided).
Session 4 and subsequent sessions – Giving, practicing, and evaluation the efficiency of relationship tools.
What does a virtual or phone session with one of our counsellors look like?
-
Upon Booking: Once you book your counselling session online or over the phone, you will receive an email notification of the date and time of your session. (Note: The time zone is Central Standard Time).
-
Beginning a Counselling Session: At the time of your session, you will open the reminder email and click on the “begin your online appointment”, button to access the virtual video app. If it is a phone session, I will call you at the time of your session. Next, we will introduce ourselves and pray.
End of a session: We discuss a plan of action for moving forward in a counselling and book a follow up session(s) if it is fitting. Next, we process payment and email you a receipt which you can use for your mental health employee benefits. (Government services are billed directly, so no receipt is needed.)
Will my employee benefits cover counselling?
Please check with your insurance benefits provider to determine if the therapist you are seeing qualifies under your specific policy. Not all insurance benefits policies cover services with all counselors. Many plans are quite specific to a therapist’s credentials. Here are some insurance providers that our clients have had coverage under; these are specific to their plans.
- Sun Life
- Blue Cross
- Great-West Life
- Manulife
- Treaty Mental Health Benefits— Health Canada (Non-insured Health Benefits)
